The Eastern Michigan Eagles are set to visit Brooks Stadium in Conway, South Carolina for a Week 1 clash against the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers. The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers will be looking to rebound after going 5-7 during the 2018 season, but they will have to replace a ton of talent on the offensive side of the ball. Fred Payton saw limited action as the starting QB last season, but he was successful as he contributed 677 passing yards, 6 TDs, and 2 interceptions. The Chanticleers will also have a new look in the backfield as Torrance Marable and Marcus Outlow graduated after combining for 1380 yards and 14 TDs last year.
The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers will need to be much better on the defensive side of the ball if they want to see an improvement as they finished 2018 ranked 100th in points allowed. The Chanticleers will have to replace their leading tackler from a season ago as Fitz Wattley graduated after contributing 68 tackles.
