Latest Odds : OSU -27 Total 63.5

On Saturday August 31, the FAU Owls visit Ohio Stadium in Columbus, Ohio to play the Ohio State Buckeyes in the opening game of the 2019 college football regular season for both.

Lane Kiffin begins his third season as head coach at FAU. The Owls were just 5-7 in 2018. FAU’s offense will be different in 2019 with almost all of its top skill-position players from 2018 now gone. Chris Robison is expected to start at quarterback, while Willie Wright and Tavaris Harrison will be Robison’s favorite targets at wide receiver. The running back position must replace big names that moved on to the NFL and will be led by James Charles and former Alabama running back BJ Emmons.

Ohio State will have Justin Fields under center. The Georgia transfer was ranked as one of the nation’s best when coming out of high school. Top running back J.K. Dobbins returns and his backup is likely to be Demario McCall. K.J. Hill, Binjimen Victor and Austin Mack are returning wide receivers. Chris Olave came on strong at the end of last season and adds to the depth in the receiving corps.

Chris Robison returns to play quarterback. Robison in 2018 threw for 2,533 yards, 12 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. The running game lost over 2,200 yards from last season as the top two rushers moved on to the NFL. All new faces are expected for FAU in the offensive backfield. The top wide receiver returning from 2018 is Willie Wright who last season made 46 receptions for 452 yards and two touchdowns.

Ohio State lost Dwayne Haskins to the NFL and will start Justin Fields a transfer from Georgia at quarterback. J.K. Dobbins returns as the leading rusher from last season. Dobbins rushed for 1,053 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2018. K.J. Hill is the leading receiver returning from last season when he caught 70 passes for 885 yards and six touchdowns. Also returning at wide receiver is Binjimen Victor who caught 21 passes for 354 yards and four touchdowns last season.

Free Betting Pick: Ohio State Buckeyes -27

The unknown exists at Ohio State as the Buckeyes prepare to kick off their season against the lesser-talented FAU Owls. Justin Fields will take over as the starting quarterback for Ohio State but has not played an official game for over a year due to transferring from Georgia. Nevertheless, the Buckeyes have their top running back J.K. Dobbins returning from last season and will turn the speedster loose early against an undermanned FAU defense. This game is over early for FAU. Final Score Prediction, Ohio State Buckeyes win and cover ATS 56-10
