ranked Oklahoma Sooners at Memorial Stadium in the opening game of the college football regular season for both.

Houston was 8-5 last season and opens 2019 with a new head coach on the sidelines. Dana Holgorsen will guide the Cougars. D’Eriq King is back as the starting quarterback and his favorite target from last season Marquez Stevenson returns. Patrick Carr will be the lead running back for the offense, while the offensive line returns three starters and plenty of depth. Defensively, the Cougars lost five starters and the linebacker corps will be inexperienced with the secondary having the most talent.

Oklahoma finished 2018 with a 12-2 record but lost eight starters including Heisman Trophy winner Kyler Murray. Nonetheless, plenty of talent returns and newcomers have arrived to give Sooners’ fans high expectations for the 2019 season. Former Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts will start under center and Lee Morris will be his top target at wide receiver. Trey Sermon and Kennedy Brooks will feature the most in a strong running attack. The offensive line must replace four starters but has plenty of talent to choose from. Defensively, anything is better than last season’s nightmare.

Free Betting Pick: Oklahoma Sooners -22

Oklahoma has had to replace several regulars on both offense and defense, but is loaded with talented skill position players. The offense will march up and down the field against most opponents including Houston and put up big numbers. Defensively, the Sooners will need time to adjust to their new system, but should stop the Cougars attack often enough to win and cover. Final Score Prediction, Oklahoma Sooners win and cover ATS 51-17
