The Miami Hurricanes are set to meet the Florida Gators at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida which will kick off the college football season. The Miami Hurricanes will have a new coach after going 7-6 with a loss in the Pinstripe Bowl during the 2018 season as former defensive coordinator Manny Diaz will take over the reins. One of the downfalls for the Hurricanes during the 2018 season was the QB position, but Diaz made a big splash when he landed former 5-star QB Tate Martell. Diaz also made a splash at WR in the transfer market as he added former Buffalo star K.J. Osborn who contributed 892 yards and 7 TDs.
The Miami Hurricanes had one of the best defensives in college football last season, and they should once again find similar success this year. The Hurricanes will return their two-star LBs which includes Shaq Quarterman and Michael Pickney who combined for 156 tackles and 8.5 sacks last season. The Hurricanes did lose some talent with their pass rush, but Diaz fulfilled that need in the transfer market as he added former Virginia Tech DE Trevon Hill.

The Florida Gators are once again looking to have a successful season under Dan Mullen as they went 10-3 last year with a win in the Peach Bowl against the Michigan Wolverines. There are high expectations for QB Feleipe Franks as he contributed 2457 passing yards, 24 passing TDs, 7 rushing TDs, and only 6 interceptions a season ago. The Gators should also have success on the ground as they return RB Lamical Perine was responsible for 826 rushing yards and 7 TDs.
The Florida Gators were very strong on the defensive side of the ball last season as they ranked inside the top 20 in points allowed, but they will have to replace their leading tackler in Vosean Joseph, interception leader in Chauncey Gardner, and sack leader in Jachai Polite.
