On Saturday August 31 the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders visit the No. 7 ranked Michigan Wolverines at Michigan Stadium in the college football season opener for both.

Middle Tennessee State finished its 2018 season at 8-6 and lost the title game of Conference-USA 27-25 to the UAB Blazers. The new quarterback for the Blue Raiders will be Asher O’Hara, who will be one of seven new players to start for MTS on offense. Ty Lee will lead the receivers’ corps, while the top running back will be Chaton Mobley. Three new players will start on the offensive line. The defense must replace five starters with the linebackers’ corps representing the strength of the defense.

Michigan will start Shea Patterson under center and the offense will look to up the tempo with fewer huddles and more plays. The duo of Nico Collins and Donavan Peoples-Jones might be the best wide receiver tandem in the nation. The running game will have highly recruited Zach Charbonnet seeing action for day one. The Michigan offensive line has four starters returning. On the defense the Wolverines will have several new faces and holes to fill but Josh Uche and Khaleke Hudson will anchor the linebackers.

Free Betting Pick: Michigan Wolverines -33.5

Michigan is much more talented on both the offense and defense than Middle Tennessee State and the Wolverines depth is far superior. Look for the Wolverines offensive line to wear down the Blue Raiders defensive front seven and open holes for the running game and protect Patterson in the pocket allowing the Michigan quarterback to find players such as Collins and People-jones down field through the air. The Wolverines defense will dominate the line scrimmage and take away the Blue Raiders running game and shut down the pass. Final Score Prediction, Michigan Wolverines win and cover ATS 57-7
